Dabei soll auch aufgezeigt werden, wie das Schülerfeedback als bewusstes Instrument der Kommunikation im Unterricht umgesetzt bzw. eingesetzt werden kann. Sie üben, zerbrechen sich den Kopf über Aufgaben, freuen sich, wenn etwas gelingt, verzweifeln und sind hilflos, wenn sie nicht weiterkommen, sind am Ende des Schultages das Lernen leid und womöglich dennoch wieder bereit für das, was sie am nächsten Tag erwartet. Die Rede ist von den Schülerinnen und Schülern. Es sind somit die Schüler selbst, die uns am besten sagen können, wie sie lernen, wodurch ihr Lernen erschwert wird und was dazu beiträgt bzw. was ihnen hilft, ihren individuellen und für sich bestmöglichen Lernweg entdecken und gehen zu können. Anstatt sich als Lehrkraft lediglich zu fragen, ob der Unterricht gut war, macht es Sinn den Blickwinkel der Lernenden einzunehmen und sich zu fragen, was der Unterricht bei ihnen bewirkt und wie er ihr Lernen vorangetrieben hat. Und ein Schlüssel, um das Lernen der Schüler sichtbar zu machen, ist laut dem neuseeländischen Pädagogen John Hattie das Feedback. Dieses soll sowohl von Seiten der Lehrkräfte kommen, damit die Schülerinnen und Schüler ihr Lernen besser erkennen können, als auch von den Lernenden selbst, damit die Lehrkräfte die Wirkungen ihres Lehrens erkennen können. Insbesondere das Schülerfeedback soll laut Hattie, in Bezug zur Steigerung der Unterrichtsqualität und des Lernerfolgs der Lernenden, eine sehr effektive Maßnahme sein.
