Forschungsarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Schulpädagogik, Note: 1,2, Fachhochschule Düsseldorf, Veranstaltung: Professionelle Grundlagen und Handlungskompetenzen aus erziehungswissenschaftlicher Sicht, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der Präsident des Deutschen Lehrerverbandes Josef Kraus verkündet, dass rund 200.000 Schüler und Schülerinnen in Deutschland täglich den Unterricht "schwänzen". In knapp der Hälfte aller Fälle nennt Kraus "Mobbing, Angst vor Mitschülern und Prüfungen" (Kraus 2011, S. 1) als Ursache für Schulverweigerung. Seiner Meinung nach sind Sanktionen in so einem Fall der falsche Weg, daher lehnt er strenge Sanktionen wie Bußgelder ab und erachtet diese für unwirksam und zwecklos. Dennoch fallen die Konsequenzen der Kommunen unterschiedlich aus und sind regional abhängig. Des Weiteren führt er an, dass in einigen Bundesländern Geldstrafen oder Jugendarrest verhangen werden, andere Bundesländer wiederum setzen auf Beratung und intensive Begleitung und Betreuung der betroffenen SchülerInnen. Insbesondere für das Arbeitsfeld der Schulsozialarbeit ist Schulabsentismus ein permanent präsentes Phänomen an Schulen und ein praxisrelevantes Thema, da schulverweigerndes Verhalten ein Ausdruck von Unzufriedenheit, Überforderung und seelischer Belastung sein kann und somit der Intervention sowie der Beratung der Vorort praktizierenden SchulsozialarbeiterInnen bedarf, indem sie die möglichen Gründe und Ursachen im Einzelfall mit der/dem Betroffenen erforschen und aufarbeiten, sozialpädagogische Hilfen und Angebote anbietet umso einer Verschlimmerung des Problems und einem totalen Fernbleiben der Schule entgegenzuwirken. In diesem Zusammenhang behandelt die vorliegende Forschungsarbeit das Thema Schulabsentismus und die entsprechenden Interventions- sowie Präventionsstrategien der Schulsozialarbeit und befasst sich darin mit der Forschungsfrage wie SchulsozialarbeiterInnen im Falle von Schulabsentismus intervenieren und welche Maßnahmen sie
