Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Theorien, Modelle, Begriffe, Note: 2,7, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Bereiche Propaganda und sozio-ökonomische Bildung zusammenzuführen, indem sie auf ihre Kernaussagen hin untersucht und beurteilt werden. Zunächst beginnt die Arbeit mit den theoretischen und begrifflichen Grundlagen der beiden thematischen Bausteine "Propaganda" und "sozio-ökonomische Bildung". Neben den Erläuterungen der beiden Säulen werden die Begriffe "Selbst- und Fremdbestimmung beschrieben und voneinander abgegrenzt. Abbildung 1 zeigt, dass die beiden Hauptbereiche die Grundlage für die anschließende Untersuchung bilden. Erstens wird unter Berücksichtigung der theoretischen Grundlagen beurteilt, welchen Platz die Selbstbestimmung in einer propagandistischen Welt einnimmt und inwieweit sie durch Propaganda beeinträchtigt wird. Zweitens soll in diesem Zusammenhang herausgestellt werden, inwieweit sozio-ökonomische Bildung propagandistische Tätigkeiten entlarven und wie ihnen entgegenwirkt werden kann. Gesellschaftliche Abläufe werden von Personen geführt, deren Namen unbekannt sind. In demokratischen Verhältnissen, wie in Deutschland, existieren daher starke Machtverhältnisse, die nicht von Politikern, sondern von Propagandisten ausgehen. Eben diese bestimmen die Funktionsweise der Gesellschaft und darüber hinaus, die Meinungen der Bürger. Ein weiterer Bereich der Manipulation ist die gezielte Öffentlichkeitsarbeit (Public Relations). Mit ihr und mithilfe von verborgenen Kräften, wird laut Edward Bernays, die Gesellschaft hauptsächlich in ihrem Konsumverhalten beeinflusst. Diese Art der Beeinflussung schränkt die betroffenen Personen in ihrer persönlichen Freiheit ein, da deren Konsumverhalten bestimmt und ihr Handeln manipuliert wird. Doch Edward Bernays beschreibt diese Art der Fremdsteuerung in demokratischen Verhältnissen, wo viele Menschen miteinander umgehen und leben, als notwendig. D
