Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Literaturwissenschaft - Allgemeines, Note: 2,3, FernUniversität Hagen (Institut für Neuere deutsche Literatur- und Medienwissenschaft), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der Verbrecher - das ist und war vor allem im 18. Jahrhundert die Schnittstelle, an der sich zwei anthropologisch relevante Fragestellungen getroffen haben, und zwar die Frage "Wie ein Mensch überhaupt hatte so werden können?" (Der Begriff "werden" war zu dieser Zeit noch nicht einmal relevant) und zweitens "Was uns davon abhält, uns mit so einem 'Geschöpf fremder Gattung [...], dessen Blut anders umläuft' zu identifizieren?". Diese Fragen erhielten vor allem im Zuge der Erneuerung bzw. Humanisierung des Strafrechts im 18. Jh. neue Relevanz. Es galt ein geeignetes und v.a. menschenwürdiges Strafmaß zu finden, die psycho-sozialen Beweggründe eines Verbrechers nachzuvollziehen und ob dazu nur ein Blick in die Gesetzesbücher oder doch "in die Gemüthsfassung des Beklagten" reichte, das veranlasste einen jungen Mediziner namens Schiller dazu, ein philosophisches Programm auszurufen. Ihm ging es als Arzt darum, den ganzen Menschen zu begreifen; sein Augenmerk verlagerte sich von der Wirkung auf die Ursache. Er wollte den Verbrecher - die "thierischste" Ausformung des Menschen - nicht als von der Gesellschaft separiert, sondern als aus ihr hervorgehend und in ihr wirkend wissen. Aus diesem Grund wählte er einen Stoff mit realhistorischem Hintergrund - den historischen Fall des Verbrechers Friedrich Schwan, den er für seine literarischen Zwecke verarbeitete. "Der Verbrecher aus verlorener Ehre" ist bis heute eines der prägendsten Werke Schillers und unter seinen Erzählungen wohl die bekannteste. In ihr reichen sich anthropologische, kriminalliterarische und sozialgeschichtliche Aspekte die Hand. An dem für das 18.
