Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,3, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit führt beide Seiten, die Transzendenzgläubigkeit und die Schuld, in der Frage, ob Johannas Liebe zu Lionel den Verlust ihrer Anmut bedingt, zusammen: In Bezug auf Schillers 1793 erschienene Abhandlung "Über Anmut und Würde" wird einerseits sein ästhetisch-moralisches Konzept aufgegriffen, andererseits Johannas innerer Konflikt und ihre schuldbehaftete menschliche Natur thematisiert. Dargelegt werden soll, dass Johannas Anmut von Beginn an brüchig war und ihr in einem Entwicklungsprozess, der in der Lionel-Szene kulminiert, verloren geht, dass sich ihre Liebe zu Lionel und der Verlust ihrer Anmut jedoch als "felix culpa" erweisen und damit zur Voraussetzung ihrer göttlichen Verklärung am Ende des Dramas werden. Das Drama "Die Jungfrau von Orleans" wurde am 11. September 1801 in Leipzig uraufgeführt und gehört zu Schillers berühmtesten Werken. Nicht nur die Aufführungen des Stücks wurden begeistert aufgenommen, auch dessen Lektüre wurde in der zeitgenössischen Rezeption sehr gelobt: "Göthe meint, daß es mein bestes Werk sei", schrieb Schiller am 13.05.1801 an seinen Freund Körner. Die Popularität des Dramas bedingte ein großes Forschungsinteresse, woraus zahllose Deutungsansätze hervorgingen. Angesichts der Tatsache, dass die "Rezeptionsgeschichte der Tragödie das Ergebnis überspielter Ratlosigkeiten" sei, gibt es keine kanonische Interpretation des Stücks, sondern lediglich einen Grundkonsens über prinzipielle Richtungen. Ein Deutungsansatz, der besonders in der älteren Forschung stark vertreten war, besagt, dass Schillers Dramen nur im "Rekurs auf seine ästhetischen Schriften" umfassbar deutbar seien und Johanna, deren Göttlichkeit als humane Selbstvervollkommnung verstanden wurde, als Exemplifikation seines anthropologischen Modells betrachtet werden müsse.
