About the Book

Scat and Tiger love running a deli, serving sandwiches to the rest of the cats in the neighborhood in exchange for feathers and yarn. As Tiger would say: "Feathers and yarn are very important to cats." Things go pretty well until Tiger starts getting the orders wrong and they run out of supplies.

With the help of their other friends, Scat and Tiger learn important lessons about key financial concepts such as budget, cashflow, planning and savings. This fun and easy to read book uses the sandwich-making hijinks of these feline friends to teach kids about basic business math.

Scat Cat Deli: Order Up is a great way to introduce children to important life lessons about business and financial concepts at an early age.

Order Up is Book 2 of the Scat Cat Deli series of children's books, featuring a cat named Scat who opens a deli with his friend Tiger. This early reader series explores themes related to money and finance such as profit, expenses and budgets. This series uses humor to present these topics in an easy to understand format.

Author and illustrator Dominic Villari's books feature well-developed stories with heart and humor that appeal to kids and parents alike. These timeless tales will grow with you and your children through pre-reading, beginning reading and novice reading.

"Order up," says Scat.

"Up where?" asks Tiger.

"On the counter," says Scat.

"Why didn't you say that?" asks Tiger.

"Order up means that the order is ready," says Scat.

"Oh," says Tiger.

"It's restaurant talk," says Scat.

"Oh," says Tiger. "I don't get it."

"I am really hungry," says Plank.

"Sorry Plank," says Tiger. "Here is your sandwich."

"Thank you," says Plank.

"Order up," says Scat.

"Up where?" Asks Tiger.

"On the counter," says Scat.

"Oh," says Tiger. "I still don't get it."

"This sandwich is for Dot," says Scat.

"Here is your sandwich, Dot," says Tiger.

"I think this is the wrong sandwich," says Plank.

"Didn't you order tuna and liver?" asks Tiger.

"I ordered chicken and liver," says Plank.

"That's not good," says Tiger.

"I ordered the tuna and liver," says Lucky.

"You gave me the chicken and liver," says Dot.

"That's really not good," says Tiger.

"You gave me liver and liver," says Lucky.

"I ordered the liver and liver," says Plank.

"What's going on?" asks Scat.

"I think I gave everyone the wrong order," says Tiger.

About the Author:

Dominic Villari is well versed in the art and science of making stuff up and is often caught talking to things, especially when they don't work right or are difficult to put together. These pursuits occasionally spill out onto paper in illustrated children's books such as Sun and Moon, Bear is Hangry and The Yelling Monsters and fiction books such as The Wandering Princess and Talks to Things. He lives in New Jersey with his wife and daughter, both of whom have gotten better about knowing when he's making stuff up.
