About the Book

Santa Fe Boy: Tales from the Black Sheep in a Hyper-competitive, Catholic Family is a hit! Here's what a few readers had to say . . . "Very much enjoyed (Santa Fe Boy) while laying in bed! I laughed out loud at so many of (the) stories. (The) "hat pin" story had me in stitches. Families are so complex and intriguing at the same time." - Denise Cole "I didn't want to stop reading. Family, church, values, aspirations all ring true for me. And Santa Fe . . . you bring it to life." - Tom Roney "(Santa Fe Boy) had me very entertained . . . racing to read each story to find out what happened and how it ended! I found myself wanting MORE!!! Having grown up in Santa Fe also it made it particularly interesting for me. I gained an appreciation of you, your parents and your family and an understanding of what it might have been like to be 5th of 6 children!" - Kyndy Boyle Santa Fé Boy: Tales from the Black Sheep in a Hyper-competitive, Catholic Family (a memoir) is the first book written by Dr. James Martinez. Written in response to the success of his storytelling about the trials and tribulations of growing up in northern New Mexico in the 60's, 70's and 80's, Dr. Martinez weaves personal accounts with a unique balance of humor and poignancy. A real page-turner!
