About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

One of Unamuno's essential works, a moving story on the conflict between reason and faith.

Considered by many to be the spiritual will of Miguel de Unamuno, this masterpiece addresses the relationship of faith and doubt through the life of a modern proto-saint named Don Manuel, the parish priest of a small town in the province of Zamora. We get to know this exceptional mal through the testimony of the last of his disciples. Her account of Don Manuel's life is as dramatically tense as it is spiritually rich. The guide to this edition, written by Professor Vicente Santiago Mulas, pays special attention to the historical and literary context of the text, with an interdisciplinary approach recommended by educational authorities.
