Samantha Plankgunn: The Journey Ahead
Samantha Plankgunn has been cursed Since August 16th, 1717. When her father and his crew sank aboard his ship 150 years ago, Samantha was left orphaned with herself and her father's blue and gold macaw, Sampson, as the only survivors. Since then, Samantha has been traveling around the world and through time on a quest to break their curse of immortality by retrieving the Hope Diamond and reuniting it with the Hope Ruby. Along the way, Samantha tells stories of her adventurous past and the many important people in history she has known. After befriending the famous pilot Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred, Samantha and her new crew set off on a worldwide adventure with endless twists, turns, and danger everywhere.
This story is the first book in the Samantha Plankgunn series. As a reader, you will be introduced to most of the main characters and go on many adventures with Samantha and her new friends, Amelia and Fred. You will meet Samantha's loyal friend Sampson, a blue and gold macaw, who will tell you stories of her adventurous past and the many important people in history she has known. As you journey through this book you will learn about real events and people of history as seen through the eyes of a twelve-year-old girl. She is out to break an over 200-year-old curse and oh the things she has seen and been through. She never got to say goodbye to her mother, or any of her friends and family. They always searched for her, her father, and his crew. Sadly after a long 3 year search they stopped looking and faced the truth that they'll never find them. She has outlived all of them which makes her feel more hopeless and alone. She lives her life knowing that she will stay immortal forever, if she does not break the curse by retrieving the Hope Diamond and reuniting it with the Hope Ruby she has. Throughout the years she has encountered many famous people, mainly women in history that have tried to help her retrieve the Hope Diamond and end this curse. This new found friendship with Amelia and Fred has given the ambition and tools she needed to complete her journey.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Haylyn is a 12 year old girl with a creative mind and determined heart. She is the middle sister, one older and one younger, but she always finds a way to shine. She has been acting and writing from a young age. She loves the stage and calls it her happy place. At just 12 years old she has already been in 20 productions and written several songs, short stories, and one acts. This is her first solo book, Samantha Plankguun the Journey Ahead. She released her first book with her sister in June 2022, Spotty the Curious Giraffe. Her talents and kind hearted nature have been an inspiration to her little sister and those around her. Because she has always been homeschooled, she likes to take the initiative on projects and prefers to learn in fun and creative ways. That is the biggest reason this story and series was born. The series is full of history, geography, and cultures, and she hopes the audience will be able to learn some cool facts and be inspired to write and follow their dreams.
