Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Musik - Sonstiges, Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Musik des 19. Jahrhunderts ist heutzutage verbunden mit Künstlern wie Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Liszt oder Robert Schumann. Komponisten also, die der Ernsten Musik1 zugeordnet werden. Die vorliegende Arbeit betrachtet dagegen die als Unterhaltungsmusik klassifizierte und im 19. Jahrhundert sehr populäre Salonmusik. Salonmusik, von den Musikverlagen als prosperierender Wirtschaftszweig genutzt, wurde damals zwar bevorzugt gedruckt, verlegt und verkauft, jedoch findet sie in der Geschichtsschreibung kaum Erwähnung. Ihre zeitgenössische Wertschätzung steht damit proportional verkehrt zu ihrer quantitativen Verbreitung. Die Gründe für diese Tatsache wird die vorliegende Arbeit näher beleuchten, indem sie untersucht, unter welchen Rahmenbedingungen Salonmusik komponiert, rezipiert und verkauft wurde. Als musiksoziologisch intendierte Arbeit wird die Salonmusik als ein gesellschaftlich-soziokulturelles Phänomen betrachtet. Im Mittelpunkt stehen daher vor allem die unterschiedlichen Einflüsse einer im Wandel begriffenen Gesellschaft auf die Salonmusik. Als exogene Wirkungskräfte sollen die Komplexe Publikum, Musikverlag und Komponist als Koordinaten verstanden werden, zwischen denen sich ein Netz aus Prozessen, Akteuren und wechselseitigen Einflüssen spannt. Da Musikverlage gegenüber Publikum und Komponisten eine Vermittlerrolle einnehmen, stehen sie im Mittelpunkt dieses Netzes. Im Zentrum der Fragestellung wird die Praxis der Musikverlage und ihr Einfluss auf die Salonmusik behandelt. Hierzu werden im ersten Abschnitt 'Publikum' die Funktionen und ausübenden Akteure der Salonmusik beleuchtet. Im zweiten Abschnitt 'Musikverlag' wird untersucht, wie Anfang des 19.
