In the Telecommunication field, a new technology called the Internet of Things (IoT)
is emerging. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects, devices,
cars, structures, etc. and other items integrated with electronics, software, sensors, and
network connectivity, enabling these objects to collect and exchange information. IoT
technology is the next major breakthrough in the technology industry, but with the big
distinction that it brings considerable changes in the industry functioning . In
coming years, a surge in number of linked appliances, situated sites and in the tasks
executed by such devices is anticipated. Furthermore, the most significant impact that
implementation of IoT will have would be on different aspects of users' routine life
and behaviour. Most evident impact of IoT would be noticed in both public places and
workplaces.
IoT will soon play a leading rolein domestic life, e-health, assisted the living, and
enhanced learning. Different industry consumers would observe comparable
implications in sectors such as logistics, smart people and goods transportation,
automation and industrial manufacturing, and business/process management, and
more. The Internet of Things is predominantly composed of three main parts:
1. The things (objects).
2. The communication networks that connect them.
3. The computer systems that use data streaming to and from objects
Government has used different data privacy schemes for the protection of information
against the threats since the misuse of personal information is increasing day by day.
The growing trend of outsourced software application development and testing also
increases the risk of misuse of sensitive data. Data anonymization is the process of
identifying sensitive data while preserving its format and data type. This process is
critical for sharing data without exposing any sensitive information contained in the
database to third parties. Disclosure of information is one of the way through which
user can be identified. By using anonymization technology, data set privacy can be
protected from various disclosures (such as information loss, membership disclosure,
and more).
The word privacy means that information related to an individual must be secure
without disclosing it to the public under any circumstances. Everyone has the ultimate
right to secure personal data. IoT application can win the trust of users by offering
appropriate security. But sharing data without the permission of users and thus
violating users' privacy could have damaging effect on the credibility of such
network.
