About the Book

Royal Affliction is a paranormal fantasy blended with reality. This book has elements of humor, romance and morbidity which stand out in Jennifer's style of writing. It has a strong, sarcastic leading lady who just really wants to find her place in either of her worlds. If you love Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs or Katie MacAlister this book is for you! Look for other books in "The Anti-Princess Saga" coming soon. Excerpt from back cover: The life of a Princess was something Quartessa would have never chosen for herself. Being handed everything and being doted upon for her bloodline rather than whom she was were neither of her life aspirations. Instead of staying in Kortis and celebrating her arranged marriage to a man she despised she chose to flee to the human world to live a modest life off a modest wage and merely blend in with the human population. To her father she was insubordinate. To her brother she was a deserter. To her sister-in-law she was undeserving of her title. To her mother she was simply misunderstood. Quartessa never cared much about what other's thought about her, but at least she was being judged based on her actions rather than what was written in her blood. Blood was far more important to her kind than it ever was to her. Her father would never approve of her new mixed-blood boyfriend on that concept alone. But as the laws of life have taught most of us, running from your problems is only a temporary solution. In the end the past usually ends up biting you in the ass. After a few years of a peaceful human life, Quartessa finds herself the pawn in a revenge plot on her kind, endangering her life and forcing her to regretfully return to Kortis to seek the help of her father. While she finds little useful information she is accompanied back to the human world by her newfound mixed-blooded love, Clifton, her best friend and very talented which, Violet, a Zolera warrior, Quino, the man she would have been forced to marry had she not left, Kafkus, and a mortal expiration date of 10 days. Along her journey she allies two humans and the Yaro Loach. But when Violet disappears, Quartessa questions the loyalty of her new friends. To gain her life back and rescue her best friend, she must face and kill her attacker, a task far above her abilities. Will she be able to save her friends, family and newfound love? A choice must be made.
About the Author: Jennifer was extremely creative as a child, always inventing new and fun things in her mind. Later in life she read just about anything that could hold her attention. She was always partial to fantasy and the paranormal with elements of humor and romance. While trapped in a mentally abusive marriage, she created her own escape, a world that she could control. She found that she had the combination of skills and imagination to create an entire world within our own and express it in a way that others might enjoy. Today, Jennifer is happily married to a man who supports her dreams. She has four children, two cats and a dog. Jennifer is currently attending Southern Oregon University to attain her bachelor's degree in psychology but still writes every chance she gets.
