About the Book

When fun loving Tyson allows himself to agree to a wager between himself and his boss, in which he is to travel around the world on only what is left of his last month's salary, he has no idea how the experience will change his life or what he is letting himself in for. The stakes of the wager are, either losing his beloved Porche, or gaining a non-working salary for the duration of his trip. Although he is not too keen on older people's company, he feels he is lucky when at a chance meeting with a wealthy 93 year old woman, he finds the opportunity to travel in her company through at least the first leg of his epic journey on a luxury liner with all expenses paid. In exchange for his help however, he is to help her to find a missing relative, who was left in the care of nuns at the start of WWII some 65 years back. It doesn't seem an easy task to find such a long lost relative or offspring, yet Tyson believes that for him it will be a breeze. Twists and turns in this saga lead to interesting results that change the course of his life forever. At sea, on The Majestic Drifter, which sets sail from Cape Town along the Atlantic coast, Tyson is happy, because he believes it will be easy for him to attain the proof of his visit to each country that the ship stops at, to send back to Bowen his boss. Tyson also thinks that all, with only the help from internet on his computer, it will be one easy task to find Marjory's missing link. Tyson sets himself up to enjoy a lazy, luxury cruise, but soon discovers that Marjory McIntosh is not the innocent old women whom he believes her to be. Tyson develops a love hate relationship towards Marjory, whom he sees as a very secretive, conniving old woman, who seems to enjoy putting him down at every turn. He is not used to this kind of treatment, because he usually has women falling at his feet and hanging onto his every word. Half the time he just doesn't know where he stands with her. In one way she seems to have very high morals, deserving of the utmost respect, yet another side of her seems to point to a deceptive witch capable of anything sinister as Tyson becomes aware of Marjory's many dark, buried secrets when they begin to surface. When fate intervenes, adventure turns to mystery and intrigue and it seems as though this old woman has taken control of his very soul. Eager to complete the task that Marjory has set for him, of finding her lost relative, so that he can rid himself of her, and get on with the completion of his tour without her, he discovers instead that Marjory is the one who suddenly vanishes without trace or warning. He discovers a side of himself that is obsessed and intrigued by Marjory. He needs to know the truth about her, and goes in search thereof, only to discover that even in her absence, she seems to be playing a cat and mouse game with him. From wildly exciting adventures, to one challenge after another. Even when Tyson breathes a sigh of relief after escaping many harrowing moments, and even a few life or death situations, he believes that all will be plain sailing from hence onwards, but turns the corner to face yet another set of new challenges. At each step of his journey, the lives of both Tyson and those whom he meets along the way, are transformed through the experiences that bring them together. Surprising twists, lead Tyson towards a world that few might only dream of. Just when he realizes just how much Marjory has actually played a part in shaping his destiny for the good, he realizes that it may just be too late to make amends. Sheer luck eventually puts Tyson in touch with Marjory's long lost relatives. The results are much, much more than he had bargained for, when he also finds the woman of his dreams. When the truth about Marjory finally surfaces, everything about her only then slowly falls into place, and he realizes Marjory's true value.
