Dianne has always had a gift for writing verses but has only recently found a special kind of flow. A few years ago after a fall she had a stroke and from that time on has suffered from numerous seizures but an extraordinary aspect has come out of these events, a flow of imagination and words onto paper. Sometimes whole verses are transcribed in an instant of magic. Indeed an amazing experience to have the privilege of witnessing. The kick-start to this process was a local writing group in Porthmadog, N.Wales, She thought it would help to have some mental rehabilitation after the stroke. She found her niche there and regularly contributes in spite of the fact she now lives in Italy. She is profoundly grateful to the stimulus they gave her. About the Author: I was born and brought up in Birmingham and very proud of my roots, I had a happy childhood and 3 wonderful brothers, sadly one of which was killed in a car accident at the young age of 26. This left a big gap in the lives of our family but as time passes it gets a little easier to live with. I have always had a profound interest in books, music, art and travel, I remember always looking at my grandmother's books from Dickens to Mark Twain, her collection seemed so magical to me. My great Aunt and Uncle also had a large and fascinating leather bound collection of masterpieces. Music, another passion of mine came from both my mother and father as both sides have theatre, singing and dancing in their blood. In my early days I belonged to a group where I played guitar and did many gigs around Birmingham. During these good old days I began to write lyrics and had voice training by a Mr Harold Levine (which my father paid for !) I met and became friends with many artists that are still in the business today. Many well known bands and some good stars came out of dear old Brum! Unfortunately I had missed opportunities due to circumstances I had no control over, so end of music career and lost recording contract! With my lacking confidence all ideas went out of the window. Life goes on and we pursue different paths, sometimes we are forced to shelve our dreams until later. A few years ago while working at Portmeirion, N.Wales, a magical, beautiful and tranquil place, it was just before Christmas when I had a nasty fall and hit my head badly. This brought on a chain of events with my health bringing 2 strokes and multiple seizures. Whilst I consider myself very lucky, no stroke leaves you damage free. But through all this my will to write returned along with my music, rediscovering a determination to fight back, walk again and never give in. I now live in beautiful Italy where inspiration is all around me. This book is a result of these recent events and to say whatever life throws at you never give up on a dream or goal. I hope this book will give you as much pleasure as it gave me writing it!
