About the Book

"An amiable, easygoing novel of friendship." Kirkus The Rosewood Book Club is the story of nine close friends who have been coming together once a month for more years than anyone can recall, sharing their own brand of southern charm consisting of plenty of laughter, good food, and an ample supply of love and sweet tea. They even discuss a book or two when time permits. Led by Jackie Bennett, retired middle school librarian, the group takes pride in their little club, which offers them a welcomed respite from life's ills and is usually just what the doctor ordered. However, it seems that some of the ills that plague a few of the close friends begin to create more than a few distractions and soon give cause for some real concern. Becka Ariel is certain there is something very shady about her new neighbors and their surly tenant and Mattie Anthony begins to worry about a retirement for which she feels unprepared. Lena Green shows signs of stress while doing her best to handle her crumbling marriage and Sandy Chapel becomes more and more distant as she tries to hide the all consuming guilt she is carrying around with her. When an elderly woman, who lived across from Lena Green is found dead, the victim of an apparent homicide, Andie Davis becomes increasingly concerned for the safety of her elderly mother and the group will soon discover the threat of danger is closer than they think. The Rosewood Book Club is the story of nine friends who know the meaning of unconditional friendship and will also discover the immense value of acceptance and forgiveness.
About the Author: Sandy Vassallo is a retired educator, having spent 34 years in education. Originally from Ohio, Sandy has lived, for the past 39 years in Columbia, South Carolina with her husband John. Sandy, a graduate of the University of South Carolina with degrees in Art Studio and Education, discovered a love for writing, while working on her first novel. She wrote her fist book, Constant Blue Skies while coping with a breast cancer diagnosis, only one month following the loss of her mother to breast cancer. That was now nine years ago. Since then Sandy wrote her second book, Henry Maxwell's Gift and now The Rosewood Book Club. She loves to write stories to which people can relate with believable, funny and often quirky characters and loves using strong dialogue to bring them all to life. Aside from writing, Sandy loves taking time out to work in her art studio, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Her four grandchildren and the absolute joys of her life and her own book club offers her not only love and support, but they were the inspiration for her latest novel. She is currently working on her fourth work of fiction and plans to continue telling stories as long as there are readers who enjoy them.
