Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Komparatistik, Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft, Note: 2,0, Universität Erfurt, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Beim Lesen der Texte Heinrich von Kleists ist es wohl kaum möglich, nicht dem Sog unglaublicher Sprachgewalt zu verfallen. Bald wird der Leser erkennen, dass das Element der Dynamik innerhalb der Sprache hierfür verantwortlich ist. Etwa im "Erdbeben von Chili" sind stetiges Fallen und Stürzen zu beobachten. Die Semantik des Zufalls durchflutet jenes Werk. Auch in der Erzählung "Die Marquise von O..." sind die Vertikalbewegungen äußerst markant. Dies steht jedoch nicht in Verbindung mit dem Begriff des Zufalls, sondern ist eher dem Umstand geschuldet. Diese Tatsache lässt folgende Untersuchungen zu: Zunächst ist auffällig, dass der Zufall aufgrund des durch Schwerkraft bedingten Prozesses des Fallens eindeutig der benannten Vertikalbewegung nach unten zuzuordnen ist. Zeichnet sich währenddessen der Umstand nicht durch eben Gegenteiliges, nämlich ein stehendes, in sich ruhendes Element aus? Es soll hierbei der Frage nachgegangen werden, weshalb der Text dennoch so auffallend von Dynamik geprägt ist. Weiterhin soll nach der Verbindung zwischen der im Folgenden entwickelten horizontalen Struktur des Umstandes und den im Text vorzufindenden vertikalen Bewegungen geforscht werden. Um eine Grundlage zur Nachvollziehbarkeit jener Problematik zu schaffen, wird der sich anschließenden Ausführung ein Überblick über die semantische Vielfalt des Umstandes vorausgehen. Das zentrale Interesse der Arbeit widmet sich jedoch folgender These: In Kleists Werk "Die Marquise von O..." haben sämtliche inhaltliche Bewegungen sowie die Textstruktur den Begriff des Umstandes zur Ursache.
