About the Book

Tranquility and security for people to live peacefully must be foremost in advancing prosperity in the world. Any party whose evil actions seem very alluring has gone astray. Some have taken as their god their vain desires because they want to hold on to their prejudices and be victorious in their tunnel vision. It was wishful thinking that my earlier books with religious themes could enlighten readers that scriptural guidance on governance is enthralling. With the publishing of a fictional biographical novel "Don Q" the author took the cue that clarifying what was written in the scriptures could be interspersed in story telling. It is about a professional quixotic character immersed in living life to its fullest yet in passive enthusiasm he churns up situations where commoners can excel in their role of fulfilling their obligations to their maker. Atypical anecdotes provoke the layman to view the scriptural philosophy beyond dogmatic religious notions. Relating of actual world events in illustrating what it was like to embrace God's law of cause and effect; starting with commitment to sanctioned decrees and righteous acts, a foundation could be set to prosper nations in pursuit of the abandon life. The Don Q character of the biographical novel constantly contemplated the wisdom of Aristo, his elderly godfather and a guru of the Creed of Abraham. Aristo's renditions of its precepts and liturgical readings of extracts used in unorthodox sacred Christian and Jewish services enabled the Don to decipher a simple reference listing of noble values. In particular, he agreed with the touted opinion that non-domestic political organizations and especially any church like authority ought not have influence over any prevailing elected domestic authority. The Don also stressed that it was common knowledge that none will reject it except fools - an intriguing but telling quote found in the Quran. With the aim of dispelling fallacies of entrenched beliefs and cult practices the Don asserted that Muslim education was beyond the dominion of the Malaysian religious hut schools in transmitting the following: (a) Common set of values and norms in the spirit of Tawhid leading towards striving for God with sincerity, thus seeking effectively the bounties of God on Earth in wholesome ways become the mark of individuals fulfilling their roles as servants of the Almighty. (b) All disciplines of knowledge should lead towards fulfilling our conscience embedded moral responsibility (Amanah), bearing in mind that in return of whatever stipend received our contribution should go beyond expectations of performance norms because we seek the countenance of God. (c) To inculcate the notion that all common folks can facilitate change to their utmost capacities, public policy could be more tilted to enabling them to uplift standards of living in their respective communities. Education imbibing wonderment interlocks with leading and controlling actions by leaders to galvanize innovation. In this new manuscript specific references in particular to verses of the Quran are made because the author is not conversant with other scriptures. Snippets relate to unlawful gains and remunerations canceling out all perceived noble contributions and charity ensuing from such earnings. Don Q surmised a surrealistic mantra "Do let your obligations due to the Almighty be done and your moral responsibility in the workplace is not to be lightly tingled with." 5 pages explain how the system concept framework serve better economics and governing of societies and 3 pages of commonplace scenarios and real events illustrate the subtle connections of economic scarcity, utility and opportunity cost. In Addendum E of the post script there are passages relating to living up to Amanah obligations through honest livelihood and easily understood everyday life illustrations. It ends with an Armageddon deja vu and the Don's take on China's new era place in the world.
