About the Author: Robert Zion, 1966 in Kassel geboren, studierte u. a. Philosophie und Soziologie, Arbeit in der Kulturförderung, als Publizist, Kinoleiter und Politiker. Zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen über Film, Philosophie, Gesellschaft und Politik in verschiedenen Zeitungen und Zeitschriften. Er organisierte als Kinoprogrammgestalter u. a. Film- und Vortragsreihen über deutschsprachige Filmliteratur und Roger Corman. Nach seinen Büchern über Vincent Price ("Die Kontinuität des Bösen"), William Castle ("Die Macht der Dunkelheit") und Dario Ar-gento ("Der verletzliche Blick"), ist "Die Rebellion des Unmittelbaren" seine vierte umfangreiche Monografie über das Kino. Robert Zion schreibt als Redakteur regelmäßig für das "35 Millimeter Retro-Film-Magazin".
