About the Author: Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Charetta Clark was the second oldest of five children raised in a single parent home. Even as a child, Charetta has always had an extraordinary imagination. She would write stories and poetry daily in her journal. Charetta always liked reading books and learning new things. Charetta took advantage of family time by asking relatives questions while learning different personalities. Instead of playing with the neighborhood kids, Charetta would sometimes sit outside and write about the things she saw. Whether it be the cars that drove by, the trees waiving in the wind, or the kids playing around her. In second grade Charetta entered a poetry contest where she was to write about her role model. She chose to write about her mother (Jacqueline Clark). It was upon Charetta winning the contest that her mom saw her passion for writing. Charetta has written many poems, short stories, and books over the years. In 2008 Charetta decided to work toward her dream of becoming a published author. She told me that once she made up her mind to pursue this dream that she grabbed a pen and began to write. Charetta said that there were times where she would read over her material and wow herself. Then in 2009 Charetta took a break from writing and gave birth to a handsome baby boy Contrell Jr. It was then that Charetta made a vow to her son that she would accomplish her dreams before he started school. After getting accustomed to being a mother, Charetta picked up where she left off and completed her first book Rings of a Marriage. Her first novel, Rings of a Marriage is scheduled for release this summer. Charetta has already finished writing her second book "Reassurance" and is currently writing her third book "Magnet for Losers". Charetta has plans of writing screenplays and wants to one day write a movie. Charettas' love of storytelling is infectious.
