About the Book

This small work is only 55 pages long and is strictly an introduction to the larger platform of religious books by author George M. Papa. More like a pamphlet than a book, this work is chalked with current information regarding the aftermath of the restoration, which began in 1820. More precisely, this book is a series of essays and commentary on a number of topics that the author feels would be of interest to a newcomer to religion.

Up front it explains the fall of Adam and the critical Atonement of Christ, which few know.

In its own unique way, this treatise both attacks and explains religion. Admittedly, it skips, bounces and jumps from topic to topic, but it does so within the framework of a spontaneous 'fire for effect', which is intended to appeal to one who knows little or nothing about religion per se, yet does not object to the candor of an insider who is happy to spill the beans.

The question arises, what is religion? The answer is simple. In the beginning, there was only one religion, and it was pure and undefiled, with information coming directly from God to Adam and Eve. All of the doctrine, promises, covenants and ordinances were included.

However, the enemy of God and man is Satan, who, with his fallen angels immediately began to introduce counterfeits that now encircle this globe. The result is that the word 'religion' is watered down to include any tangent belief whatsoever. Still, the object is to find the truth.

This book starts with a magnificent Declaration by the present three-member First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. This is most appropriate. God now has his Church again on this earth for the seventh time since Adam, which was 6,000 years ago. Large gaps have been in between each dispensation, and the last one has now been progressing for 200 years.

This remarkable Declaration is only one page long and it contains nine paragraphs. I love it! It is truly a boatload of information. However, I have the advantage of knowing the story behind the story and all the details from day one. I have been to Palmyra. I have read the journals of my ancestors and other relatives who were at the very heart of this restoration. I'm the guy that can add fabric to the spindle, which is the object of this book that I call The Road to Emmaus.

We all have roads to tread. Sometimes, it is not the dot on the map that counts, but what happens along the way. Such is the journey of life, and in the end, that journey becomes the crown. What happened on the road to Emmaus, on the same afternoon of the day of Christ's resurrection, changed this planet forever. It confirmed for mankind the stairway to heaven.

The understanding that occurred at the end of that 7-mile walk made all past and future wars, earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, volcanoes, plagues and other disasters pale away. This is because at that moment in time, Christ's senior Apostles, Peter and John, finally understood the purpose of this earth. This critical knowledge continues to radiate across this tiny planet and is the most powerful element in the universe!
