About the Book
What readers are saying: "It's satisfying to finally find a believable, strong and capable, woman hero. Obviously Captain Victoria Mayne is the real thing! How she deals with the bad guys says it all!" "Rarely do you find an adventure-thriller as if told by the spy herself. You are there, the sweat gathering on your brow, Iranian-backed terrorists closing the gap, your nation's survival in the balance. A fascinating read!" Captain Victoria Mayne is facing the greatest threat of her career, operating covertly against Iranian-backed terrorists-a coordinated conspiracy involving Iran and China, preparing for a surprise attack against an unnamed, yet vital, target in the Middle East. Victoria meets with America's top-secret "walk-in" agent, an Iranian general, but is ambushed, her agent murdered. Blamed for the disaster, she is forced to resign. Defeated she returns home to the Salmon River wilderness region of Idaho, the "River of No Return" as it's known. Before leaving the Middle East, however, she meets a supposed businessman, one she is attracted to, and is, unknown to her, someone she's met before. And also unknown to her, he's shadowed her for a decade. They form an alliance, but soon Victoria feels this man is not who he appears. Worse, a deadly team of assassins has followed her home. Victoria, however, is now on her own turf, the mountains and her sacred river, the mighty Salmon, where she grew up as a girl. Here Victoria can turn the tide on these hired killers and finally uncover the Iranian plot against America.
