About the Book

This monograph examines the doctrinal, technical, and bureaucratic innovations that evolved in response to these new operational warfare challenges. It discusses the transition from a conventionally focused, Cold War-era targeting process to an in-depth examination of emerging technologies that are likely to shape how this mode of warfare will be waged in the future. The rise of iWar has introduced a new operational paradigm and approach to warfare characterized by three distinct elements: individualization, identity, and information. Military leaders, soldiers, intelligence community professionals, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) personnel, information technology, historians, forensic, and homeland security professionals may be interested in this volume. Additionally, military and political science students the future of military warfare may be interested in this text for their research.
