Essay aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Musikwissenschaft, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als Richard Strauss am 1. Oktober 1889 Großherzoglicher Kapellmeister am Weimarer Hoftheater wurde, setzte er sogleich auch Wagners "Lohengrin"an, der hier knapp vierzig Jahre zuvor in Abwesenheit des aus politischen Gründen in die Schweiz emigrierten Komponisten seine Uraufführung erlebt hatte. In Bayreuth war Richard Strauss in den Jahren 1889 und 1891 musikalischer Assistent, 1894 dirigierte er den "Tannhäuser". Mit Siegfried Wagner war er zunächst eng befreundet, dann aufgrund von Kontroversen der beiden Komponisten über ihre musikdramatischen Arbeiten mächtig verstritten. Erst im Jahre 1928 versuchte Siegfried Wagner, schriftlich die Wogen zu glätten und die alte Freundschaft neu aufleben zu lassen. Aber dazu kam es nicht mehr. Nach Siegfried Wagners Tod im Jahre 1930, holte seine Witwe Winifred Richard Strauss erneut nach Bayreuth, wo er bei den Festspielen der Jahre 1933 und 1934 die musikalische Leitung des "Parsifal" innehatte. Der Jurist Dr. Hans Michael Frank, am 23. Mai 1900 in Karlsruhe geboren, war als Hitlers Münchner Rechtsanwalt ein früher Anhänger des Nationalsozialismus, der im Oktober 1928 den Rechtswahrerbund gründete. Am 19. Dezember 1934 wurde er Reichsminister und Reichsjuristenführer und im Oktober 1939 Generalgouverneur für die besetzten polnischen Gebiete. In seinem 'Generalgouvernement' wurden in den Vernichtungslagern Belzec, Sobibor und Treblinka an die zwei Millionen Juden ermordet. Mit vier Vorträgen an deutschen Universitäten bezog Frank im Sommer 1942 Stellung gegen Hitlers im April desselben Jahres erfolgte Beseitigung der richterlichen Unabhängigkeit. Hitler erteilte ihm daraufhin Redeverbot außerhalb des Generalgouvernements, Franks wiederholte Rücktrittsgesuche lehnte er jedoch ab. Vor dem Einrücken der Roten Armee floh Frank mit zahlreichen Beutekunststücken in seine Heimat nach Oberbay
