Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Geschichte - Allgemeines, Note: 1,7, Technische Universität Chemnitz (Institut für Europäische Geschichte), Veranstaltung: Der Dreißigjährige Krieg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die literarische Rezeption des Werkes von Grimmelshausen und somit auch des Dreißigjährigen Krieges, der auch der "Große Krieg" genannt wird, herauszuarbeiten. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Ausarbeitung stehen vor allem Literaturvertreter des 20. Jahrhunderts. Nach den Ereignissen kam es im Laufe der Jahrhunderte immer wieder zu einer intensiven Beschäftigung mit der Thematik. Zum einen wurde sich historisch mit der Problematik befasst, zum anderen vollzog sich eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Krieg, der von 1618 - 1648 dauerte, auf literarischem Gebiet. Diese Arbeit erhebt ebenso den Anspruch, sich vom Feld der historischen Betrachtungsweise zurückzuziehen und sich auf dem Gebiet der Literaturwissenschaft zu versuchen. Bei der Erarbeitung literaturwissenschaftliche Texte bzw. Arbeiten über die Rezeption des Dreißigjährigen Krieges taucht in nahezu jeder Veröffentlichung ein Name auf. Es ist der von Hans Jakob Christoffel von Grimmelshausen, der im 17. Jahrhundert lebte. Diese Person wird im Punkt 2 dieser Arbeit vorgestellt. Doch welche Verbindung gibt es zwischen Grimmelshausen und Literaten des 20. Jahrhunderts? Diese Frage will diese Arbeit beantworten mit der These, dass die Schriftsteller sich zu Grimmelshausen zurückbesannen und seine Werke benutzten, um wiederum Ereignisse des 20. Jahrhunderts mithilfe der Verknüpfung zum Dreißigjährigen Krieg rezipieren zu können. Aus diesem Grund werden drei wichtige Vertreter der Literatur, die im oben genannten Zeitraum wirkten, gewählt. Es sind Thomas Mann und Johannes R. Becher (Punkt 3.1), Bertolt Brecht und sein Theaterstück "Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder" (Punkt 3.2.) sowie Günter Grass mit seinem Werk "Das Treffen in Telgte" (Punkt 3.3.).
