A la place de cette notion, nous trouvons des formes humaines en performance (jintai). Ces formes (sugata/shi) sont associees a la double metaphore de la fleur (hana/ka) qui en figure la beaute sur scene, et de la semence (tane/shu) qui designe la performance dans sa potentialite. Paradoxalement, cette metaphore pleine de vie de la fleur repose pourtant sur le jeu artificiel d'un acteur masque compare a une marionnette (ayatsuri). En lieu et place d'un sujet transcendant, nous avons affaire a l'immanence d'une forme denuee de realisme, a laquelle le savoir-faire de l'acteur donne la fraicheur et la beaute de la vie. Alors que le personnage de Delia Manara chez Cortazar subsume les representations de Circe en femme fatale, construites au XIXe siecle, les poemes d'Atwood, en redonnant la parole au personnage, revelent des aspects jusqu'alors inexplores du texte source pour liberer Circe des interpretations patriarcales dont elle a fait l'objet et proposer un autre mythe. L'etude de ses traductions du poete peruvien cherche a devoiler les liens intimes entre le traduire et la creation poetique, dont la necessite, chez Claude Esteban, est celle de la tentative, ou de la tentation, perilleuse, d'une reconciliation entre le francais et l'espagnol, les langues qui le tinrent longtemps dans un ecartelement.
