The goal of the author of this book was to target believers who may not have a deeper understanding of God's Word. He has sought in writing interpretations, to be succinct and direct. He cites scriptures to support interpretations, thereby improving one's Bible knowledge. There is a unique Chronology Chart in an Appendix which is a helpful guide for the reader to better understand the Scriptures. This book is about Jesus Christ and his final judgement of mankind. As we see throughout history that prophecy after prophecy is being completed exactly as predicted, we are confident that our Lord will be faithful to complete what we call "end times." We'll see in the book what will happen when lawlessness in this church age reaches a point of being unacceptable to Christ. In a twinkling of an eye, He will act to protect the believers and deal with the lost. Someone once said "all good things must come to an end." For those who trust Christ, there will be no end to God's blessings into and for eternity. All throughout the Scriptures, when God saves His own from one compromising situation to another, He always gives His people something better. For example, when God freed Israel from slavery in Egypt, He gave them a land of milk and honey. We see choices made by mankind and see that our eternal destination and existence with Jesus Christ depends on one decision in life. Regardless of the station in this life, each of us must answer the question of our relationship to the Son of the One and only God and Creator of all things. While Jesus is the main character, we see how He works through others, both saved and lost, to accomplish His plan which He made even before creation. We'll learn of a dangerous enemy who, through deceit, seeks to have one follow him into disaster. He is wise and powerful and those who love themselves will follow him into the depths. But the lost man has a choice and hopefully, through this study, will trust Christ and live with Him in eternity. We'll see the path of both the saved and the lost, the "shoulda's" and the "coulda's," and how He has made it simple for us to turn to and trust Christ. Christ has always been the answer to every difficulty, He is the answer now, and we need to choose Him before the times of the end which are difficult if not impossible for the lost.
About the Author: I guess it's okay to call myself an author, since this is my first and, possibly, my only book to be published. While my parents struggled to provide for me and my three brothers and sister, they gave us the greatest gift of all. First, to every sibling, their great love; but, even more importantly, they taught us of the love of Jesus Christ and His gospel of grace. I was saved at a tent revival at the age of nine. I went to work at thirteen years old and at fifteen was working forty four hours a week and going to school. Regrettably, later my work became more important than my family and even my Lord. Rather than trust God to provide, I sought to take it on in my own power. For years, my work dominated through two careers. After thirty years I retired as a Systems Analyst and project head designing and implementing business systems, then spent twenty five years as a realtor and broker of my real estate company. During this time period, I completed my Bachelor's Degree of Applied Science (BAS) at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. I estimate that between the age of thirty until the age of sixty five, I worked an average of seventy hours per week. While some may see these as acceptable accomplishments, I see much of it as misdirected time and energy. Sadly, the lost time in service to my Lord represented lost blessings. It resulted in minimal growth as a Christian, less time with my family, and less time for God's Word and His work. Being the slow learner that I am, at eighty years old, I have finally learned what is important: living for my Lord. Hopefully, you can learn from my example. I am so thankful that He called me to write this book of commentary. I pray that He will use it for His glory.
