About the Book

David Cameron, Primer Ministro del Reino Unido ENGLISH DESCRIPTION Without a doubt, President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa's six-year term (2006-2012) was marked by great challenges for Mexico. The expansion and violence of organized crime was especially serious, as well as the international economic crisis, about which the author gives an ample and useful explanation. He also had to deal with everything from the H1N1 influenza epidemic to the intense droughts and floods that affected the country, and many other events that painted a particularly complex panorama. Felipe Calderón offers a personal account of how the government addressed each of these challenges. As he himself says, "this is a text that tries to explain what we did. But it isn't a report that lacks reflection or self-criticism. As in every government, insofar as human activity, mine had limitations, errors, and insufficiencies. But it also had good moves and successful programs. The reader, public opinion, and the official records will analyze these facts which, at a distance, remain from such a complex period."
