About the Book

"One man of courage makes a majority!" President Andrew Jackson. Andrew Jackson is an American hero! He was the seventh President of the United States, but he was much more than that. Andrew Jackson was an example of extraordinary leadership and courage, a man who overcame great adversity and lifted his fellow-countrymen in the process. He personified American Exceptionalism! Andrew Jackson was born near the end of the Colonial Era, on March 15, 1767, along the Waxhaws border region of the North and South Carolina colonies. He was a soldier during the American Revolution, serving as a courier at age 13. And it was at that time he was captured and harshly treated by the British. He would later serve with great distinction in the War of 1812, soundly defeating a numerically superior British force at the Battle of New Orleans, and in so doing turn the tide of that war and bring it to an end. He was tenacious in battle and his troops called him "tough as old hickory." The nickname "Old Hickory" stuck, and Jackson became an instant and enduring national hero. Andrew Jackson's legacy is that a Soldier, Statesman, Defender of the Constitution, Patriot, and enduring American hero. Andrew Jackson's own words are documented in this work, a priceless collection of selected thoughts and utterances of a man who changed the course of American history, and helped lay the foundation for the world's greatest power since the Roman Empire, and the last best hope of man on earth. As you will see, his words are powerful and insightful, giving a rare glimpse of America during its formative years. This is a book about virtue, and truth, and those attributes we can all learn from. It is a book that embodies the qualities and responsibilities of being an American. Our forefathers established this great nation under God, and Andrew Jackson must certainly be counted amongst those pivotal greats. He changed the course of American history for the better! Let us resurrect the memory of President Andrew Jackson, and in so doing highly resolve, as President Jackson so eloquently remarked in his Farewell Address, to each in our own way thank God for a life "spent in a land of liberty," while it is still here.
