ACERCA DEL LIBRO ORIGINAL: Publicado en 1946, El Hombre En Busca De Sentido es un libro que presenta la historia verídica del psicólogo Viktor Frankl quien fue prisionero de Auschwitz durante el exterminio judío que tuvo lugar en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Debido a estas experiencias tan cruentas, el libro de Frankl es una reflexión sobre el proceso de supervivencia de un ser humano: primero, se sobrevive a una situación insuperable, después, se acepta el trauma al que uno es sometido y, finalmente, se le encuentra un significado. Sumado a esto, los prisioneros también se mostraban crueles unos con otros, sentimiento que era una reacción el encarcelamiento y a las precarias condiciones de vida. A pesar de esta atmósfera negativa y dolorosa, el autor descubrió que como prisionero tenía la libertad de elegir cómo reaccionar ante su nueva vida: podía buscar un motivo para vivir o podía dejar que la adversidad acabara con la humanidad que le quedaba. De hecho, Frankl relata que los prisioneros más fuertes y resistentes eran aquellos que tenían un motivo para sobrevivir. Sin duda, cada persona tenía motivos diferentes para sobrevivir al holocausto; el motor de Frankl era sobrevivir para recrear el manuscrito del libro que los guardias decomisaron cuando entró en Auschwitz.
