He has completed two government-sponsored research projects as a sole principal investigator namely "Hybrid Urban Landscape Analysis for Green Smart Cities through Geospatial Technology" sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India, and "Meta-sensing of an urban footprint from airborne synthetic aperture radar (ASAR) data" funded from Space Applications Centre (ISRO), Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

He has been revisiting a wide range of issues associated with traditional research activities but has an interest in thinking about other non-traditional/challenging areas/topics for the exchange of research activities. More preciously, he has been working in the intersection area of Computer Science, Geospatial Technology, Sustainability Science, and Satellite Image Processing for monitoring urban landscapes but over the past few years his primary areas of expertise and research focus on around Remote Sensing Observations, Applications and Analysis, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Urban Landscape Informatics and Analytics for Smart Cities, Environment and Climate Change, Sustainability Science and Policy, Urban Research Methods, and Analysis, Urban Environment, Urban Weather and Climate Modelling (Impacts & Aspects of the UHI), Sustainable Urban Environment, Infrastructure and Climate Change Management, Sustainable Development Goals and Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), Data Structures, Database Systems, Data Analysis and Visualization, Computer Science, Information Science, Systems, and Technologies, Cyber Defense, Spatio-Temporal Spatial Data Management, Analytics and Geovisualization, Renewable Energy Economics, Management, and Integration.
