Sie ist erfolgversprechend, vor allem um das Selbstvertrauen der Schüler im Mathematikunterricht zu stärken, welches oft sehr gering ist. Es werden Lerntagebücher mit den bekannten Regelheften verbunden. Zwei reizvolle Leitfragen werden hier speziell fokussiert: 1. Spiegelt sich in den Lerntagebüchern das Wesentliche des Unterrichts wider? 2. In wie weit können die Schüler das Lerntagebuch als Erinnerungshilfe nutzen? Schüler, die in gewisser Weise selbstständig lernen können, sind eine Voraussetzung dafür, das Wesentliche des Unterrichts erkennen und notieren zu können (vgl. Merziger 2007, 86f.). Anhand der Untersuchung verschiedener Lerntagebücher und rückblickenden Aussagen von Schülern wird in dieser Arbeit gezeigt, - dass die meisten Schüler ein Gefühl dafür haben, was das Wesentliche des Unterrichts ist, - dass sie lernen können, ihren Lernerfolg selbst besser einzuschätzen und - dass sie von nun an tragfähige Erinnerungshilfen besitzen und diese nach Belieben immer weiter führen können. Im Theorieteil (Kap. 2) soll dargestellt werden, welches Bild von Mathematik sich noch oft nicht nur in den Köpfen der Schüler, sondern auch in den Köpfen der Lehrkräfte eingebrannt hat (2.1). Im weiteren Verlauf werde ich zeigen, wie wichtig die individuellen Zugänge zum Mathematiklernen sind. Anschließend werden verschiedene Formen von Lerntagebüchern vorgestellt (2.2), mit deren Hilfe ein individueller Zugang zu Mathematik ermöglicht werden kann. Auf weitere Begriffserklärungen (selbstständiges Lernen; Lernprozess) wird verzichtet, da diese als trivial vorausgesetzt werden können. Abschließend wird Bezug auf den Bildungsplan der integrierten Gesamtschule Sekundarstufe I genommen (2.3). In Kap. 3 wird zuerst die Lerngruppe beschrieben.
