RELATOS ENTRECRUZADOS: Es la primera vez que la editorial Mapalé hace una convocatoria a escritores canadienses de origen latinoamericano para hacer parte de la antología Relatos entrecruzados. Quisimos celebrar de esta manera nuestra labor de promover las artes y las letras desde el 2004. El escritor chileno-canadiense Ramón Sepúlveda fue el invitado especial para ser el antologador y editor. Le enviamos los 124 relatos que recibimos sin el nombre del autor, haciendo el proceso transparente y para él muy interesante, ya que conoce a muchos de los escritores que participaron en la convocatoria, sin embargo solo reconoció la pluma de no más de cinco. Fue una experiencia de aprendizaje y sorpresas, ya que de los 101 escritores que participaron quedaron sesenta. En este proyecto confirmamos la diversidad y talento que existe en Canadá, un país multicultural por excelencia y que se enriquece con cada inmigrante. Participaron escritores de Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, México, Perú, República Dominicana, Uruguay y Venezuela. Se han incluído algunos escritores latinoamericanos sin nacionalidad canadiense quienes se enteraron de la convocatoria gracias a la magia de las redes sociales y no se percataron que era solo para latino-canadienses, sin embargo sus relatos ameritan estar en Relatos entrecruzados. Esta antología de sesenta y ocho relatos es una muestra de la narrativa breve de nuestros tiempos. Los relatos conforman un tejido de historias que reflejan nuestra existencia, nos muestran la cotidianidad, pasando por situaciones insólitas, absurdas, tristes, pero también tiernas y divertidas. Son historias que se entrecruzan describiendo vivencias colectivas. Esperamos disfruten estos microrrelatos, mini-relatos o micro-cuentos, que abarcan diversos temas, en muchos casos recurrentes, como por ejemplo: memorias del país de origen, la muerte, historias de amor, historias de viaje, experiencias de aculturación, entre otros, expresados con la fuerza que tiene el relato corto.
