Did you know that Reiki may efficiently relieve tension and calm your body?
According to a 2007 poll, 1.2 million individuals in the United States (U.S.) attempted Reiki or a comparable treatment at least once in the preceding year. Additionally, it is reported that approximately 60 hospitals provide Reiki treatments to patients.
But what exactly is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese stress-reduction and relaxation practice that also helps to heal.
It is given by "laying on hands" and is based on the belief that an invisible "life force energy" flows through us and is responsible for our survival.
Reiki is derived from two Japanese words: Rei, which means "God's Wisdom or Higher Power," and Ki, which means "life force energy." Reiki is, thus, "spiritually directed life force energy."
Reiki is controversial since it is difficult to show its efficacy via scientific techniques. However, many individuals who have received Reiki report that it works, and its popularity is growing.
During a Reiki session, the patient will be fully dressed and will sit in a comfortable chair or recline on a table.
The practitioner softly lays their hands on or over certain locations of the head, limbs, and torso utilizing various hand shapes, and the transfer of energy occurs as the practitioner holds their hands lightly on or over the body.
Obviously, this is an oversimplification of what occurs during a Reiki session. There are several strategies to learn in Reiki Healing for Beginners.
