Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europas - Neuzeit, Absolutismus, Industrialisierung, Note: 1,0, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg (Historisches Seminar), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Nur wenige Jahre nach der Französischen Revolution breitete sich auch im Deutschen Reich die Angst vor einem Umsturz aus. Als Herd aller Verschwörungen wurden die Geheimbünde, Orden und vor allem auch die Studentenorden angesehen. Um einer möglichen Revolution entgegenzuwirken, versammelten sich 1793 die Reichsstände, um über eine mögliches Verbot von Studentenorden zu diskutieren. Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit der Frage, warum gerade die studentischen Orden eine scheinbare Bedrohung für die Herrscherschicht des 18. Jahrhunderts darstellten, also welche Umstände eine Rolle spielten, dass es überhaupt zu einem Reichsgutachten kommen konnte. War es der letzte Schritt einer langen Entwicklung oder gab es vielmehr einen konkreten Auslöser? Um den vorgegebenen Umfang der Arbeit einzuhalten, können nicht alle Universitäten mit ihren jeweiligen Studentenorden in Betracht gezogen werden. Deshalb wird das Hauptaugenmerk vor allem auf die Universität Jena gerichtet, zumal sich hier auch ein Höhepunkt der "Krise" abgespielt hat. Die Forschungsliteratur befasst sich nur am Rande und nur in einzelnen Aspekten mit dieser Thematik. Am aussagekräftigsten, bezüglich der Verhandlungen um das Reichsgutachten selbst, dürfte noch Karl Härters "Reichstag und Revolution" sein. Die Ereignisse 1792 in Jena werden hier aber völlig außer Acht gelassen. Dies erscheint jedoch insoweit als wichtig, da es die Universität ist, auf welche sich der Herzog Karl August mit seiner Argumentation für ein Verbot aller Studentenorden bezieht. Mit der Universität Jena befassen sich vor allem Otto Dann in seiner Arbeit: "Jena: Eine akademische Gesellschaft im Jahrzehnt der Französischen Revolution", sowie Otto Götze in seinem Werk: "Die Jenaer akademischen Logen und Studentenorden des XVIII.
