About the Book

The reflector centers around the popular City of Calamba in Africa. In it lives a young boy named Musa, the only child to a single mom. He is stung by a deadly bioluminescent insect called the yellow beast and comes to close shave with death but is eventually revived. Over the years, the venom of the insect infests his entire body, reconfiguring his blood structure and DNA, transforming it into pure yellow light energy and turning him into a super human. He is eventually discovered by a doctor who is astounded at the mystery of his biological structure, which differs from the working principles of the natural human body. He kidnaps Musa and uses him as a test subject in his lab, with the intention of discovering the science behind his super abilities, for power and fame. Musa loses his mum, who dies of a broken heart due to his sudden disappearance. He breaks out of the containment facility, kills the doctor and vows to get his revenge on the city of Calamba for his painful loss. He abducts three young teenagers and infuses them with different colours of light energy, transforming them into super humans like himself and created a consciousness in them that all humans are monsters and deserve total annihilation. He and his crew take over the city of Calamba and wreak all manner of havoc on the city and it's terrified citizens. The reflector, a young man grounded in the knowledge of physics and biochemistry rises on the scene and is moved with compassion at the great sufferings of the people of Calamba at the hands of the yellow beast and his crew, which he himself is a victim. He discovers the working principle of a light energy superior to that of the yellow beast and his crew. He transforms himself into a powerful light being and becomes the defender of the city of Calamba against the yellow beast and his forces of evil. He is opposed severally by the yellow beast and his crew but takes a stand for love and justice, thwarting their evil schemes over the city on several occasions. The pressure mounted on him by his foes increase tremendously and he is torn in between two worlds, love and hate. Will he forgive the pains of the past and stand for the people of Calamba, as their true defender against evil or will he yeild to the darkness calling out to him to seek revenge for the hurt done to him in the past by his enemies? The reflector is a powerful science fiction story that captures the power of love and light in a world ravaged by hate and bitterness. It reveals the pain and hurt that cuts deep into the hearts of people because of man's inhumanity to man and how these emotions have turned many into monsters, bringing out the darkness in them and making them a shadow of their trueselves which is love. Pains and hurt are not to turn us into heartless monsters but are to create in us the capacity to forgive and love even more because man is not a product of good and evil, but is a product of love. Love is the power that heals the world and restores the beauty of it's existence.
