About the Book

A curious path down neurological and evolutionary theories, as well as ancient Christian ideologies, the author takes the reader on a concise yet complex journey through science and religion in a quest to better understand what it means to be human, why our societies flourish, and how to find joy in our lives and deaths to come. Abolishing the view of all Christians as simple close-minded fanatics, this book strives to convey a view saturated with science and ideology alike, to portray a fuller understanding of an existence we may never fully comprehend. Redefining self, perception, love, and God, this book outlines the thought process of a young man in desperate search of a God that doesn't need to set aside our fragile logic in order to find believers. This story sets the path for a view of Christianity that is not bound by organizations, but rather defined by crawling through this mess we call life and recognizing the beauty sewn throughout our existence. This book is about a message that truly transcends generational boundaries on a scale that would appear to lie in the definition of humanity itself. This book is your reason to not give up on God.
About the Author: Raised in the small town of Valmeyer, Illinois. Eric Brandt grew up in somewhat of a sheltered world, blinded to the hardships surrounding him by a devoted network of family and friends. Through family trials, losing his family home in the floods of 1993, and complications across the globe, the question of lacking safety and support never seemed to cross his mind. A good student through grade school and college, Eric Brandt was a dedicated student throughout his academic career. While letting his religious beliefs take a backseat to his educational endeavors for the majority of his high school and college life, the principles of his Christian upbringing never seemed to stray far from the back of his mind. In reevaluating the value and credibility of his Christian faith against atheistic views and multiple alternative religions, Eric discovered the line of logic shared in this book and spent six weeks traveling the Southwestern United States while living out of his car, trying to transfer his thoughts from his mind to his notebook. Having accomplished what he set out to do in transcribing his thoughts in the publication of this book, he is now set in continuing to put the ideas of this book into practice.
