Hello Dear Reader,
If we haven't met yet, let me start here: This was not how my life was supposed to turn out! When I pictured my family and marriage I never once thought of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), alcoholism or suicide.
My husband and I started marriage as most do, young and hopeful. We envisioned years of wedded bliss, adventure and fun, followed by babies and eventually more adventure and fun in retirement. I knew there would be ups and downs, but I wasn't prepared for what marriage would look like for us. After eleven years together, our foursome became a threesome in an instant.
Redefining Grace is my journey. An eleven-year journey of falling in love with an Army soldier, marrying, and ultimately losing him to PTSD-induced suicide.
Redefining Grace offers a raw, honest account of how we met, our tumultuous marriage, and how it ultimately ended in my husband's death by suicide and finally, through my recovery.
I want you to know, my dear friend, there is life after tragedy. If you glean nothing else from reading my story, I hope you leave knowing that recovery is possible-and you can move on in triumph!
When life seems to fall apart, through any tragedy, we want to know that our pain has meaning and a purpose. This book helped me to realize that my life matters and that my story has significant value. Yours does too.
This journey is one of grace. Grace I don't deserve and grace my husband couldn't receive. How do you define grace?
Gracefully yours,
Lindsay
