This is an Award winning Choral Songbook from a prolific composer, containing diverse musical styles and complete 360 degrees music genres and forms.
The growing importance of music in worship necessitated the write-up of this piece of music for use in love, faith and hope for churches, school choirs/bands, institutions of higher learning and families worldwide.
This work covers the Biblical record of some events from Genesis unto the Revelation of Saint John the Divine. It spans across the three dispensations about The LORD Jesus Christ work of redemption for mankind. It covers mainly some important events before His birth, His Life, Death and Resurrection and Life Hereafter. Demos are available as a guide at www.redeemersongbook.com. All instruments were arranged, played/performed and recorded by the composer and his team.
The musical style is purely contemporary classical & gospel music in church style. Drum and Percussion accompaniments can be combined with string, brass and woodwind orchestra as necessary. A cappella singing and songs were also featured in contemporary gospel music style.
The inspiration for putting this work together is the extra-ordinary life Jesus lived to secure eternal life for His own and as an African to present African choral musical style on the same platform with standard performances of large scale choral works for use in church worship services worldwide. A blend of modern day contemporary classical Choral music with the traditional choral music in the 'classical' period as well as contemporary gospel music featured prominently.
African rhythm and beat patterns were also presented to bring desired flavors and varieties to the whole arrangement and organization as necessary. The work is in IV Parts of different musical forms.
Part I of the work focused on some key events in the first dispensation before His Birth and God's promise of deliverance to His saints. God's WORD re-echoed like a refiner's fire on the fearful recitatives in No. 1b and No. 2 respectively. Songs about the prophecy of His birth and the joy & redemption it brought to mankind were also included.
The Events that led to the death and resurrection of the LORD Jesus Christ and the victory that accompanied His resurrection from the dead re-echoed in Part II of the work with the Chorus 'Let All the Angels of God Arise and fight the foes' and subsequently 'But thanks be to God who giveth us the victory through our LORD Jesus Christ' in Part III. Part IV contains contemporary pop gospel songs. Afrochorals were written in tradition African music styles and featured on a large-scale SATB. The English translation for each piece is included in the lyrics and sources page where applicable.
The Chorus 'Worthy is the Lamb' as recorded by the Apostle John in the Book of Revelation as he was in the spirit on the LORD's day on the Island of Patmos featured with the Afro Choral Wa O Wa Olodumare ! (Come O Come Creator!) Written in three major Nigerian languages in Part III also.
A desired climax is predictable probably with the choruses at the end of each of the IV Parts namely No. 21 - Coronation! No.46 - Let all the Angels of God Arise!, No.68 - Wa O Wa!, and on the final piece No. 80 - Amen! respectively.
It is indeed the composer's desire and sincere hope that this work will be an excellent blessing to everyone who listens to it. It will mend broken hearts, give the assurance and re-assurance of faith and hope of eternal life and also fill every heart with the joy of heaven and above all exalt the most wonderful name of the LORD Jesus Christ as we awaits His glorious second coming soon!.
