About the Book

A story about generational change and living in Trump's America of 2025. It is also a love story with a strange economics twist. These four horsemen were released to set out a Devine apocalypse upon the world as harbingers of the last judgement. Death rode the pale horse. The Grand Leader sought an exclusive deal to manufacture and distribute the millions of test kits necessary to fight the Covid-19 in America. IF he could do so, to control the sale and distribution of the kits - he and his son - they would double their existing fortune. There was a lot at stake for the first family. That said, neither men had the scientific competence to do so, and also lacked the support from within and without the Party. Older men would say that it was wrong. What it did do, however, was to delay testing across America. It was unexplainable, until it was disclosed to the Party and the public that TGL actually caused the delay. That in and of itself was understandable. While it infuriated many, again there was nothing anyone could do. The virus ruptured trust in the stock market. Day-after-day the market tanked. This got TGL's attention. He declared a state of emergency, and with it, the economy further collapsed. These new emergency powers, money and environment of fear allow for, even supported his suspension of elections and made necessary his second term. But it accelerated the number of cases and deaths, and the fact that Covid-19 was still alive and well in pockets around America and the world in 2025. When I visited Red Wing that summer I deployed the green and white striped awnings that shaded the screen-door entrance - under the green and white sign - keeping the large store-front windows from direct sunlight. The awnings dropped or deployed much like the single slotted Fowler flaps on my Learjet Model 45 drop or deploy by the turning of mechanical machine screws. I turned a similar machine screw with a specially formed thin metal rod which in turn, turned and ran the green and white awnings in or out. I was 10...ten...then. There were colorful notices in the front windows. Advertising like that found on the blue, red and white Pepsi push-bar on the screen door. Ancient gum stuck forever to the hot cracked concrete. It's still there. Crushed cigarette butts, paper, wrappers and more that only just then started to be recognized as litter - please fight litter...the Indian Chief wept on black and white TV. Change - ah...yes. Just throw it out the car window or let it drop to the ground - until it started building up. Litter was recognized as a problem. Soon...we would recognize environmental pollution in several forms. And who but President Richard Nixon would bring us there? He did. He was a fuzzy kitten. Especially when compared to the monsters in power today. But on that hot summer day even the lead-based-paint painted building; cracked concrete, sweet smashed bubble-gum and litter had a certain smell - reminiscent...not bad. It simply smelled like one of many hot summer days in Red Wing at that place and at that time - 1966. Today America raises workers - not thinkers, and certainly not critical thinkers. Capitalism failed...failed for all but the uber-super-wealthy, that is. The UPR
