Poet Glynn Tiller has collected some of these poems from the many unpublished ones he has written over the years and has also written new ones in the last six months for a total of forty-four poems.
Tiller's poems speak to a variety of life's issues and are of no particular theme. They acknowledge sadness over the death of loved ones, nostalgia for long-ago places, reminisces of times gone by, the anguish of hospital visits, longing for the advent of a more comfortable time of year, observations of nature along a major highway, and even the rascality of a grandfather.
This collection of poems will cause the reader to weep or to smile, and generally enjoy the author's wonderful manipulation and use of words and phrases. The reader will enjoy partaking of "poetry, the dessert of language" as Tiller himself has put it so astutely.
About the Author
A native of Bowie County, Texas, Glynn Tiller is the author of three collections of poetry: Waltzing with Places, Omens on the Water, and Reconnection. Six of his poems have been published in the San Antonio Express-News and two appeared in Aruba Today. Tiller received a Certificate of Achievement Award from the Greater New Braunfels Arts Council in 2010 for one of his poems.
Tiller attended the public schools of Texarkana, Texas, and received his college education at Lee College, Sam Houston State University, and the University of Houston. He is a retired college professor, but is an adjunct lecturer at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
Tiller and his wife, Stephana, live at Canyon Lake, Texas.
