Sie versucht, den derzeitigen Stand der Rechtslage aufzuzeigen sowie auf Tendenzen hinzuweisen. Zunächst sollen im 2. Kapitel der Begriff und die technischen Grundlagen des "Elektronischen Geschäftsverkehrs im Internet" beschrieben werden. Anschließend gibt das 3. Kapitel einen Überblick über die für diese Arbeit relevanten deutschen und internationalen Rechtsgrundlagen. Das 4. Kapitel beschäftigt sich mit rechtlichen Fragen, die sich bei der Einrichtung eines Geschäfts im Internet ergeben. Welche Verträge müssen abgeschlossen werden, um das Unternehmen im Internet präsentieren zu können? Welche Rechte entstehen daraus? Worauf ist bei der Auswahl des Domainnamens zu achten? Im 5. Kapitel werden rechtliche Aspekte der Kundenbeziehungen beim elektronischen Geschäftsverkehr betrachtet. Dies geschieht in Anlehnung an den chronologischen Ablauf einer elektronischen Geschäftstransaktion: Vertragsabschluß, Vertragsdurchsetzung und elektronischer Zahlungsverkehr. Anschließend werden verbraucherschutzrechtliche Aspekte und deren Bedeutung für die Unternehmen aufgezeigt. Datenschutz- und urheberrechtliche Fragestellungen bleiben ausgeklammert, da sie den Rahmen dieser Arbeit sprengen würden. Unberücksichtigt bleiben weiterhin Aspekte des Wettbewerbsrechts und der Produkthaftung.
