About the Book

Life has a way of changing so swiftly, one moment everything is as it should be and the next chaos shatters an existence that was once content and thriving. Sarah watched Guy die in the lists, fighting against men who were his comrades. The deep happiness she shared with her husband was taken from her so swiftly, leaving her with naught but a memory of a life she treasured. With nothing left to her in the kings crowded court Sarah leaves London, and with the help of Robin of Milberk she returns home to her family and the comfort that can only be found in their arms. Secretly Robin is fighting own demons and a past so dark he knows not how he will ever overcome its grasp. By the tip of a sword Robin is forced to escort Sarah to Artois the crumbling keep left to her by her husband. But when Robin's life is threatened by an unseen foe Sarah finds herself pleading for Robin to live, to wake, and love.
About the Author: I have always enjoyed writing and still have a handful of stapled together books I wrote when I was around ten years old. They were typed on my moms old electric typewriter, the good old days before spell check and the delete button. It's fun to look back at a dream in the making and read the stories I wrote when I was little. Reading is a hobby I have always enjoyed. It started in elementary when I read Tuck everlasting three times. Today it is still my favorite book. As a teen I became fascinated with the medieval era and confess I'm still obsessed with that particular time in history. As a young mother I want to be able to share my love of reading about the women of medieval times with my daughters and not have to skip or blackout pages with a sharpie. With this as my mission statement, I sat down before our computer and began my first book. Shadows the story of a young woman who was destined to be more than she ever thought possible. I laughed, I cried and spent many a sleepless night typing until my heroin was safe and all she ever longed for was hers. My goal is to write stories grown women can read to escape from normalcy as well as share with daughters, nieces and granddaughters without the fear of questionable content. So far I have completed nineteen manuscripts and currently find myself working on number twenty. When I'm not writing I'm researching. Historical books on Ireland are my favorite. I also enjoy the history of Britain, Italy and France. Subjects consisting of life in medieval Europe are a standard in my library as well as the workings of castles and ancient warfare. The internet is also an indispensable tool. The web is where I turn when I have a question with an elusive answer. Currently I'm working on self publishing the Norick series. It is seven books in total, each taking place within the remarkable family who call Castle Norick home. My Lady Witch is published and the first in the series, Champion second, Memories of the heart third and coming this spring A reason to wake. I'm also saving to travel to Ireland and England, a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. In the meanwhile, I plan to write and publish my work until every tale within me is shared with those who have a desire to read them. Happy reading, K.L. Brown
