About the Book

Over the past fifty years the American people have abandoned constitutional principles in pursuit of government handouts, prosperity built upon debt and freedom from personal responsibility. Over the next 50 years, America's headlong fall into socialism will intersect with China's soaring free enterprise sounding the death knell of the 400 year Anglo/American Empire. Reason & Tolerance offers a concise argument for an American Civic Revolution necessary to divert this threat and asks if Americans have the courage to honor the sacrifices of their forebears by once again embracing liberty through personal initiative and responsibility.
About the Author: Davis Jones is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina and a 1981 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Business Adminstration. Davis is an entrepreneur who has launched enterprises ranging from construction to education to healthcare. He served sixteen years in the Army Reserves, climbed the tallest mountain peaks in Colorado, dog sledded across the boundary lakes of Minnesotta and has run three marathons. He is an avid student of history. Following the discovery of a dozen family property deeds from the early 19th century he set out on a journey that resulted in the completion of 'Of Thy Blood; A North Carolina family traces its bloodlines to antiquity.' This 'Jones Family Ancestrology' traces his direct ancestors through the Civil and Revolutionary Wars, Jamestown, European Royalty and back to his oldest indentified ancestor, Flavius Afranius Sygrius, a Gallo-Roman Senator born in 340 AD. Davis developed his interest and passion for the Constitution through his service in the military and from his frustration watching the country spiral into debt while government has increasingly intruded into Americans' daily lives. His interest in education was peaked when his children were young. They are now successful young college students. His interest and frustration with healthcare originated from his personal experiences during the loss of his wife to cancer in 1994. This episode has resulted in the development of a new healthcare model for America which he has developed into a business startup project about which he is currently writing a book. Davis is continuing his pursuit of entrepreneurial interests while expanding into writing, speaking and politics.
