About the Book

Book 4 is a continuation of the Cellophane Men Series. It covers the administration of Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States. His independent intelligence agency, the Cellophane Men, provide 'services' not allowed, by law, for the regular government intelligence agencies (e.g., CIA, DIA, etc.).In the first mission for Reagan, the Cellophane Men assist the Israeli military in destroying a nuclear power plant being built by Saddam Hussein of Iraq. The power plant's by-products will provide fissional material used in nuclear weapons, which he would utilize against Israel. In their second foray, the Cellophane Men set up a clandestine intelligence network in Argentina during the Falkland's War in 1982. They manage to transmit alerts from Argentina to the commander of British forces in the Falklands regarding aircraft and ship movements from Argentina to the Falkland's. They are successful all throughout the war and help defeat the Argentine invaders. They return safely to the United States once the war is won.Their third operation is to infiltrate a team of agents to the Caribbean island of Grenada. Their objective is to blueprint the defenses of the Grenadian forces on the island. This intelligence will be critical to invasion forces of the United States and several other Caribbean nations, which are about to invade Grenada in 1983. The Cellophane Men successfully obtain all of the intelligence needed and are exfiltrated from Grenada shortly before the invasion occurs. The fourth mission for Reagan takes them to Honduras, in Central America. Here, they will train Nicaraguan 'Contra's' to fight a guerilla war against the communist-oriented Sandinista government in Nicaragua to over throw them and establish a democracy once again. However, the United States will not supply weapons to the freedom fighters, so an 'alternative source' of money must be found. A rogue USMC colonel is utilized to supply money to buy weapons. He will buy various missiles and other weapons, sell them to Iran and will supply the money to buy the Nicaraguan the needed weapons. His source of money to buy weapons for Iran was never discovered. This became known as the 'Iran-Contra Scandal'. The Contra's eventually won the conflict and established a democracy, but the scandal over how this came to be, led all the way to the White House. Nothing was ever proven that Reagan had any part in that business, but to this day, it has been thought he might had something to do with it.In their fifth, and final, mission for Reagan, the Cellophane Men are sent to Libya in 1986 to determine the locations of Muammar Gaddaffi's air defenses around Benghazi and Tripoli. The United States is planning an aerial assault of both areas in retaliation for Libya's attacks on U.S. navy ships and planes in the Gulf of Benghazi. They send two combined Cellophane Men and Israeli Mossad teams into Benghazi and Tripoli to develop the locations. They spend two days in each city and pinpoint the air defense systems. They are exfiltrated out of Libya and return to the United States with the intelligence. Several weeks later, a massive air raid of combined U.S Navy and Air Force aircraft bomb the air defenses around both cities and wipe out Gaddaffi's air force completely and neutralizing Gaddaffi as a power-broker in the Mid East. He never recovered from this, and some years later his government was overthrown and he was killed in the process.
