About the Book

The Rat Who Covered Its Eyes: 11 Rules For A Post Civil Rights Struggle by Riyaad Giovanni, D.Sc Economics is a coming of age book for the Black person looking to break the chains of Civil Rights minded thinking. Civil Rights politics, legislation and struggle has lead to the biggest wealth gap between black and whites in American History. Under Civil Rights leaders we have seen a break down in family, entrepreneurship and independence. We have traded it all to be second class low wage workers to White America. This book will not only give you clarity and direction but will kick start your journey back to black independence and economic responsibility. The reader will go on a journey of self awakening and awareness that will make him fit to sit in any boardroom, classroom, round table or political arena available and fight for the economic independence of Black people. Riyaad Giovanni has dedicated his life to this cause and has spent years mentoring, building up and financing the dreams and aspirations of black entrepreneurs. But as the old adage goes, "you can fish for the village and become rich. Or you can teach the village to fish and we all become independent.
About the Author: I am a black man born in America. My story is epic! I am a modern day Gilgamesh. Like most black males born in the belly of the beast my story is pain and struggle against insurmountable odds that must be overcome in order to blossom into the man that I am. America hates me, but I love me. I am in a constant battle to be more than my highest expectations of self. I am a walking dichotomy educated but I prefer the street code. The eye to eye look a man in his face when you insult or compliment code. I refuse to bow down to white normality, the idea that life should be viewed, legislated and understood by the paradigm of the average White American. I refuse to baptize myself in holy whiteness. Their is a path to success that black men can maintain our identities and be successful outside of the established white corporate infrastructure. I am blazing a trail on that path, and will bring as many of my fellow black people with me as possible.
