Theme A common man in his day to day life has to full fill his responsibilities as a ideal person where he is dealing with his family members, close relatives and friends but to be a successful man in social and official life at places he has to deviate from idealism and be a diplomat as well. Ram is an avtar of Vishnu as a king. Mostly writer have portrait Ram as Maryadapurushottam as such his minor deviation from idealism have completely been ignored . In my book "Ramayan Samay KI Kasaui Per" I have tried to do justice from both angles and have brought out thoughtfulness justice and his ideal behavior with all relations in detail. At the same time I have also highlighted his deviation from idealism which I feel he had to undergo to fulfill the responsibilities of a noble king. As a king he has to do many things for lok -ranjan . He may or may not like doing some thing but he has to perform his duty for society. Let it be Gandhi or Gautam, when a person is king or a icon in society he has to please society but his family will seldom be happy. So was the case with Ram. . Salient features In Balmiki Ramayan Ram is Eesh Manav. In Tulsidas's Ram Charit Manas Ram is Maryada Purushottam, and in Kamban's Ramayan Ram is God But In my book I have projected Ram as an incarnation of God who took birth to end the prevailing wrong practices and to establish progressive values by killing Rakshashas. My Ram took birth as human and his works and thoughts are also like human being. I have used SAMAY(Time) as narrator to analyze various actions of Ram and their relevance to to days values. That's why the name ' Ramayan Samay ki Kasauti par' has been perceived. About the Author: About the author Aruna Trivedi was born on 19th October 1948 at Satna, M.P. She studied at Gwalior, M.P. and did her M.Sc in Organic Chemistry from Madhav Institute of Science And Technology, Gwalior with the third rank in university . After M.Sc. she got admission for P.hd.at Roorkee university and also got job as Senior Scientist at Defence Research Laboratory, Gwalior. But she could not join either as she got married to an army officer, Col V N Trivedi same year. She is blessed with two sons. Elder son is Arms Force Medical College graduate and working as Interventional cardiologist at Atlanta, USA and younger son is I I T Kanpur Engg. graduate and works as senior manager in research and development department of Oracle sort ware company at California, USA. After marriage she remained as house maker till her children got settled. Subsequently She worked as implementation manager in an international consultancy firm for over ten years. She has travelled a lot in India as well as abroad which includes most pilgrimage sites revered in Hinduism. During these travels she interacted with people from different regions and classes in India. While most people in India are deeply religious she realized that very few of them had in-depth knowledge of their own religion. For example most hindus consider Tulsidas's Ram Charitra Manas as the ultimate reference book for the story of Ram. However it is just one of the many versions of Ramayan written in various Indian languages. Infact the original version of Ramayan is in Sanskrit by Valmiki but all the versions of Ramayan have their own details and sub-plots to tell about the story of Ram. The author started collecting these details and subplots to narrate bed-time stories to her grand children but in time realized that this knowledge is a common heritage of all hindus which is at risk of being forgotten. This motivated the author to pen down all these stories in one comprehensive book in the commonly known languages of India today. The present book "RAMAYAN SAMAY KI KASAUTI PER" is the out come of above efforts /experiences . Another motive of the author is to educate common hindus on the philosophical depths of their own religion which is unique among the existing religions of the world as being one open to multiple interpretations and evolving as per current times. Lack of awareness of this philosophical depth runs the risk of turning Hinduism into a rigid dogmatic religion.
