Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 1, Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Während das rationale (Entscheidungs-)Verhalten anhand zahlreicher Theorien unterschiedlichster Disziplinen erklärt wird, ist die Suche nach (wissenschaftlichen) Überlegungen oder Modellen hinsichtlich irrationalen Verhaltens in Organisationen ungleich schwieriger - und das, obwohl der Mythos der Rationalität in und von Organisationen zunehmend aufgeweicht wird. Moderne Theorien, wie jene des Institutionalismus oder die Rational Choice Theorie stimmen überein, dass Organisationen nicht (notwendigerweise) effizient sind und nach streng rationalen Maßstäben operieren. So besagt das Rational-Choice-Theorem, dass jegliches Verhalten individuell intentional ist und dass Akteure nur ihren individuellen Interessen (wie objektiv verrückt diese auch sein mögen) folgen. "Dummheit" ist dabei nichts anderes als unvollständige Information, die es im Übermaß gibt. Auch Scott Adams liefert mit seinen Überlegungen rund um das "Dilbert-Prinzip" einen möglichen (mit einem Augenzwicker versehenen) Erklärungsansatz hinsichtlich des Zustandekommens absurder und irrationaler Verhaltensweisen in Organisationen. Adams, US-amerikanischer Cartoonist, Buchautor und Erfinder von "Dilbert" geht davon aus, dass Individuen von Natur aus "dumm" und daher zu rationalem Verhalten, verstärkt durch eine zunehmend komplexere Umwelt nicht in der Lage sind. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die Adams'schen Überlegungen über die Absurdität und Irrationalität individuellen Handelns in Organisationen als eine Art radikaler Skeptizismus am organisationalen Rationalitätspostulat verstanden. Ziel der Untersuchung ist es, nicht nur Adams' radikalen Skeptizismus an der Rationalität individuellen Handelns und Entscheidens zu erläutern, sondern seine Überlegungen auch im Lichte fünf ausgewählter, klassischer Organizational Behavior-Ansätze zu anal
