LA VOZ DE LOS ANTEPASADOS PRECOLOMBINOSTal vez sea Chile el país latinoamericano más privilegiado por su poesía épica. Desde la Araucana, Arauco domado, Purén Indómito durante los días de la Conquista, hasta el Canto General de Pablo Neruda y el Poema de Chile de Gabriela Mistral en el siglo pasado. Por eso no resulta insólito que el poeta Carlos Johnson Bordalí, se haya atrevido a escribir un largo poema sobre la figura y contenido mítico y religioso del dios Quetzalcóatl, de la cosmogonía azteca también llamada Serpiente Emplumada...(...) Fue probablemente en el mes de marzo de 1517, con la llegada de Francisco Fernández de Córdoba al Yucatán, cuando los españoles tuvieron las primeras noticias de Quetzalcóatl. Al parecer, entre los mayas, el sacerdote encabezó una corriente nacida del espíritu puro, venida de la ciudad de Tula -Capital de los toltecas-, como reacción a la vida lujuriosa y desordenada que se intentaba imponer en esa ciudad -antes de la fundación de Tenochtitlan, hoy D.F. México-, y que ocasionaría la ruina de la civilización y el imperio tolteca. Fue a Quetzalcóatl, dios del bien, de la fertilidad agrícola y de la cultura, a quien se le atribuye la concepción de una doctrina teológica acerca del dios supremo como única base moral, concebido como un principio dual, masculino y femenino a la vez, capaz de engendrar y concebir todo cuanto existe. Así, la doctrina de Quetzalcóatl se constituyó en el hombre consiente, es decir, el individuo alcanzando la categoría de ser celeste por la evolución del ser interior como meta suprema. Quetzalcóatl nunca permitió los sacrificios humanos -los que después fueron muy frecuentes y sangrientos llevados a cabo por los aztecas en su guerra florida-, imprimiendo en el espíritu de los toltecas un profundo sentido de austeridad y misticismo, y conduciéndoles al recogimiento y al ejercicio constante de los deberes religiosos... (...) El poema comienza con una descripción genésica, anterior a la presencia material del dios, especie de protoplasma que anuncia su aparición: El reptil está erguido/ se inflama en el campo/ aparece sobre las piedras/ como la materia que emerge...Luego, el poema continúa con la descripción de los atributos benéficos de la divinidad: Ometeotl/ dios de la dualidad/ masculino y femenino/ padre de todos los Dioses... En algunas partes del texto percibimos la influencia benéfica de Las Alturas de Machu Picchu, por una serie de versos donde las metáforas se suceden formando una estrofa rítmica donde se unen sonido y sentido: curanderas de las yerbas/ remedio de los males/ artesana de las flores/ rescoldo del hogar/ corazón de jade...(...) Aparte del mérito formal e interpretativo de este largo poema, su escritura nos habla de una fuerte vocación latinoamericanista, donde se celebra la cosmogonía de un gran país del Nuevo Mundo con fuerte influencia precolombina como es México. Y éste es el primer mérito para los chilenos que tan poco conocemos y nada nos hemos interesado por la cultura y la tradición mapuche, cultura que, sí no nos dejó grandes obras de arquitectura, nos legaron una cosmogonía igualmente valiosa por su contenido pedagógico y el valor ético y formal de la palabra hablada.He aquí uno de los puntos de contacto más significativos de nuestros países que nos diferencia de Europa y nos enseña como destino la unión política, económica y cultural de nuestras naciones con un antepasado indígena común, a pesar de las diferencias entre los pueblos originarios de México, Perú y Chile.
