Vor dem Hintergrund taiwanischer Diskurse zu Homosexualität und ihrer gesellschaftlichen und politischen Bezüge verhandelt der taiwanische Autor Ji Dawei (geb. 1972) als Vertreter einer postmodernen, stark global orientierten und inszenierten jungen intellektuellen taiwanischen Elite die Themen Homosexualität, Wahrheit, Identität und Ritualität in einer Sammlung unterschiedlicher Erzählungen, . Diese sind jedoch durch die Klammer der Dekonstruktion als methodologisches Instrument und die theoretischen Prämissen der als ku´er lun taiwanisch-indigenisierten Entsprechung der queer-theory miteinander verbunden. Die im Rahmen dieser Studie exemplarisch behandelte Erzählung "Die Rituale", 1995 in dem Erzählungsband "Welt der Sinne" veröffentlicht, beleuchtet anhand der Lebens-, Liebes- und Leidensgeschichte des Protagonisten die Falsifizierbarkeit absoluter Wahrheiten und die diesen innewohnenden willkürlich-subjektiven Identitätsannahmen. Anhand unterschiedlicher textimmanenter Parameter wie Familie, Militär und Ritual versucht die Arbeit, die zugrunde liegenden Einschreibungen des Autors sichtbar zu machen und gleichzeitig einen Blick auf ein wenig beachtetes und außerhalb Taiwans kaum rezipiertes literarisches Sujet zu eröffnen. Da die vorgelegte Studie induktiv und textnah angelegt wurde, findet sich eine Übersetzung der "Rituale" beigefügt.
About the Author: Phillip Grimberg, geboren 1980, ist seit seinem Magisterabschluss in Moderner und Älter Sinologie als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und Lehrbeauftragter für chinesische Literatur an den Universitäten Köln und Bonn tätig. Bereits während seines Studiums in Köln und Hangzhou (VR China) wählte er einen literaturwissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkt, wobei er sich insbesondere mit dem klassischen chinesischen Roman sowie der festlandschinesischen Literatur des XX. Jahrhunderts und der Literatur Taiwans seit den fünfziger Jahren beschäftigte. Seine Magisterarbeit zur taiwanischen queer-Literatur verfasste er bei Prof. Dr. Lutz Bieg (Köln). Z.Zt. promoviert Phillip Grimberg zum Thema Literaturtheorie, Kritik und Ästhetik im China des XVI. und XVII. Jahrhunderts. Daneben veröffentlicht er wissenschaftliche Aufsätze zur Literatur- und Geistesgeschichte Chinas und fertigt Übersetzungen chinesischer Lyrik und Prosa an.
