Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2018 im Fachbereich Mathematik - Statistik, Note: 1,3, SRH Hochschule Riedlingen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Auch wenn kleinere und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) weniger stark wahrgenommen werden, gebührt ihnen eine volkswirtschaftlich höhere Beachtung als den sogenannten Großunternehmen. In Österreich zählen 99,7% aller Unternehmen zur Gruppe der KMU, häufig auch als der Mittelstand bezeichnet. Etwa zwei Drittel der Beschäftigten und des unternehmerischen Gesamtumsatzes stehen in Österreich auf der Habenseite dieser Unternehmensgruppe. Es wundert daher nicht, dass die KMU auch häufig als das Rückgrat der Wirtschaft bezeichnet werden. Dies gilt nicht nur in Österreich, die aufgezeigten Zahlen ähneln sich in fast allen Ländern der EU, so auch in Deutschland. Die Fragestellung nach relevanten Faktoren für die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit dieser Unternehmen ist somit von weitreichendem Interesse, nicht nur für die im Rahmen dieser Arbeit behandelte österreichische Wirtschaft. KMU stehen vor einer Vielzahl ökonomisch motivierter Fragestellungen. Diese Arbeit soll darstellen, um welche Fragestellungen es sich hierbei handelt und wie die österreichischen KMU dazu stehen. Hierzu wird im Rahmen dieser Arbeit der Datensatz einer schriftlichen Befragung von 500 Geschäftsführern österreichischer KMU aus dem Jahr 2005 analysiert. Zur Gewährleistung eines besseren Verständnisses sowie einer fachlichen Einordnung dieses Hausarbeitsthemas, werden in Kapitel 2 zunächst theoretische Grundlagen geschaffen. Hierzu wird die Gruppe der KMU zunächst genauer definiert und im Anschluss deren Relevanz für die österreichische Marktwirtschaft dargestellt. Kapitel 2 schließt mit einer Ableitung von Fragestellung, die im weiteren Verlauf der Arbeit beantwortet werden sollen. In Kapitel 3, dem empirischen Teil dieser Arbeit, wird die Datensatzanalyse des Fragebogens vorgenommen, welcher im Jahr 2005 von 500 Geschäftsführern österreichischer KMU ausgefüllt wurde.
